Abstract

|
Ten trials of external quality assessment for Clinical Chemistry were performed in 1995. A total 10 pairs of general chemistry and blood gas QC materials were distributed to 368 laboratoies with a response rate of 74.6% in general chemistry and
distributed to 149 laboratoies with a response rate of 79.0% in blood gas. the plastic box were made to improve the safety in mailing with the good response. The methods of analysis were fixed with one method in calcium, uric acid, protein,
cholesterol,
and in the remainder were increased with the direct ISE and IFCC recommendation methods but the performance by CV and VIS were improved in 15 out of 19 items compared with those of last year, the standard codes for analysis, instrument models,
and
regents were much corrected with the subcommittee's efforts. The external quality assessment program should be continued with increasing interests of each laboratory's technicians and clinical pathologists to improve the quality in clinical
chemistry.
